Terms of Service

Last updated: May 13, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Misou Skin ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Misou Skin is the autonomous skin layer — a longitudinal companion that reads your face zone-by-zone, tracks how it behaves over time, reads your products' ingredient lists alongside your personal context, and adapts your routine day by day. Using the Service involves uploading photos and chat-based intake, which are processed by third-party providers under enterprise data agreements (see Privacy Policy for details).

3. Important Medical Disclaimer

Our observations, routine suggestions, and pattern readings are built on cosmetic science and shaped by your personal skin data over time. Misou Skin is a skin wellness companion, not a medical service. The Service does not diagnose, treat, or manage any medical condition, and is not a substitute for professional dermatological care. You should not rely on the Service for any medical skin condition, disease, or health concern.

If you have a medical condition, are taking prescription medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have any health-related concern about your skin, consult a qualified dermatologist or healthcare provider before making skincare decisions. Do not disregard, avoid, or delay obtaining professional medical advice because of information provided by Misou Skin. If you experience any adverse reaction to a product, discontinue use and seek professional advice.

4. How Misou Reads — System Limits & Good-Faith Effort

Misou makes its calls in good faith from the data available to it. Some of that data has structural limits we want to be transparent about so you can use the Service with clear expectations.

Brand-data gaps. Misou's product reading is built on the ingredient lists and product disclosures that brands publish. Brands choose what they publish — anything not disclosed sits outside what Misou can read. If a brand omits an ingredient, doesn't publish a full INCI, lists ingredients under non-standard names, or updates its formula without updating its labeling, our reading on that product will be incomplete or out of date. We work to keep ingredient data fresh, but we do not have access to anything a brand has not made public.

Small-brand and niche-product coverage. Smaller brands, regional brands, and niche products are more likely to have thin or missing public ingredient data. For those products, Misou may not have enough information to give a confident verdict, and may surface a lower-confidence reading or no reading at all by design. We would rather flag the uncertainty than guess.

Skin Vision reading ceiling. Phone cameras are a constrained sensor. Lighting, camera quality, head angle, makeup residue, and recent washing all affect what the Skin Vision model can pick up. Even under ideal conditions, image-based reading has a ceiling: some changes are below the camera's resolution; others are above it but the model interprets imperfectly. The Skin Vision reading is one input — Misou combines it with check-ins, conditions, products, and life context precisely because vision alone is not enough.

Accuracy boundaries. Misou is a system. Systems are not infallible. Our observations, verdicts, routine suggestions, and insight notes are produced in good-faith effort against your current data — they are not guaranteed to be 100% correct, and edge cases will exist. Treat them as informed guidance to factor into your own decisions, not as authoritative claims.

Good-faith effort and your judgment. Misou's design philosophy is to surface our reasoning so you can sanity-check it: every verdict comes with the inputs that drove it; every routine change comes with the rationale; every insight comes with the data window it was built on. The Service works best as a partner to your own judgment, not a replacement for it. When something matters — health, a reaction, a serious skin concern — consult a qualified professional.

5. Account Registration & Age Requirement

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. Misou Skin is designed for adults managing their own skincare. We do not knowingly provide the Service to anyone under 16.

6. Your Data

You retain ownership of all data you provide, including photos, health information, and product data. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process this data solely to provide and improve the Service. See our Privacy Policy for detailed information about what we collect, how we use it, and how you can delete it.

7. Safety Information You Provide

You are responsible for providing accurate health information (medications, allergies, pregnancy status, recent procedures, chronic conditions). The Service's safety reading is only as good as the personal context you give it. Inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date information may cause the Service to surface routine suggestions or product verdicts that don't fit your actual situation. Keep your profile current — and if you are unsure whether a product or ingredient is safe for your specific medical situation, consult a qualified healthcare provider; do not rely solely on the Service.

8. Prohibited Use

You may not: use the Service for anyone other than yourself; provide false health or safety information; attempt to bypass the Service's personal-context information layer; use the Service as a substitute for professional medical advice; reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service; use the Service to develop competing products; share your account credentials with others.

9. Subscription & Payment

Misou Skin requires a paid subscription. Plans are $30/month (~$1/day) or $275/year (~$0.75/day, save 24%). Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from your profile settings. Prices may change with 30 days written notice. See our Refund Policy for cancellation and refund terms.

10. Fair Use Policy

The Service is designed for personal skincare management. To ensure quality for all users, usage is subject to fair use limits: up to 80 chat messages per day and up to 100 product scans per month. These limits are generous and accommodate normal use — most users never approach them. If you reach a limit, the Service will notify you and access will automatically restore at the start of the next period. Automated, scripted, or bot-driven access is prohibited.

11. Limitation of Liability

Misou Skin is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. THE SERVICE IS NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE AND IS NOT INTENDED TO DIAGNOSE, TREAT, CURE, OR PREVENT ANY DISEASE OR MEDICAL CONDITION. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for: skin reactions, allergic responses, adverse effects, or health outcomes resulting from following the system's suggestions or using products surfaced by the Service; inaccuracies arising from incomplete brand ingredient data, undisclosed reformulations, or the inherent limits of image-based skin reading described in Section 4; financial loss from purchasing products that did not work for you. You use the Service and any suggestions at your own risk. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding any claim.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may cancel your subscription and delete your account at any time. Upon account deletion, your data will be permanently removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Non-material changes (clarifications, typos, processor list updates that don't expand data use) take effect upon posting, with the "Last updated" date revised. Material changes — including price changes, expanded data uses, reduced user rights, or changes to dispute resolution — will be communicated via email and in-app notification at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms; if you do not agree with a change, you may cancel your subscription before it takes effect and discontinue use. Previous versions are available on request at support@misouskin.com.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if necessary, through binding arbitration.
